Shine – A Hiding Place
I have found in Him a hiding place. This past week, I was mulling across some of my daughter, Shiloh’s audio stories from her car. She had stacks in plastic containers that has helped her traveling back and forth to college and work. I decided upon, The Hiding Place. At first, I thought.. this is pretty heavy. I don’t think I am in the mood.
But it was all I had at the moment and true to the accolades from my daughter, it was spell binding. The rich voices brings you back to the watch shop and you feel you are actually going into the little room behind Corrie’s bedroom, hiding during the German raids.
Although my mind was transported, in my spirit… I began to thank God for my Hiding place in Him. Outside our windows today a war is raging of darkness and light. In Psalms 61:3,4 the scripture says:
‘From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: ‘ lead me to the rock that is higher than I for thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.’ Psalm 61:3
Also: ‘If we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us… but, for them who are not ashamed, He will not be ashamed at His glorious returning.’ Luke 9:26
Corrie was never ashamed of standing up for Jesus. Boldly, I declare, if we are depending on this world for our solitude and strength we have our trust in sinking sand.
But if we are depending on the rock of ages, it is a true rock that will stand when the world is on fire. I choose Jesus Christ, my God, my rock and security.
